SILVER LAKE

Silver Lake has long been called out as one of LA's coolest areas because of its indie stores, hip coffee shops, and trendy restaurants. Most of the hot spots are clustered along the iconic Sunset Boulevard, which cuts through the lower half of the neighborhood. However, there are other streets with a smattering of pubs, wine bars, and vegan cafes. At its center is a manmade reservoir which gave the neighborhood its name  Atwater Village,  Elysian Valley and Echo ParkWestlake, East Hollywood, and Los Feliz are all adjacent or bordering cities.  The pace of life here is relatively unhurried. There are a lot of remarkable single-family homes in Silver Lake and many with wide-open views of the surrounding areas, and many of which are architecturally significant. Apartments are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. Bungalows, Contemporary, Craftsman, Spanish, and Mediterranean homes are the most common styles here in Silver Lake.
