Marina del Rey is known for its Marina and the beautiful harbor that's a major boating and water recreation destination of the greater Los Angeles area. The Marina del Rey port is North America's largest man-made, small craft harbor and currently houses over 5000 watercraft vessels. It's primarily a tourist destination for both land and water activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, cruising, yacht charters, and vacationers.

Marina del Rey is Spanish for "Harbor of the King" and is truly a paradise fit for a king. Most residents make the most of their unique location and surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean, high-rise condominiums and apartments yacht clubs and endless amenities, it's easy to see why this is a true water lover's paradise and high-end community in Los Angeles County. You're close to Venice Beach, miles of biking and hiking trails, the Will Rogers State Beach, Torrance County Beach, and multiple parks, high-end shopping venues, and world-class restaurants.

Downtown Los Angeles is about 17 miles or 40 to 60 minutes by car from Marina del Rey. Santa Monica is less than 5 miles, Century City is about 8 miles, and Burbank California is about 29 miles away. For those that work in downtown or surrounding communities and towns, it's important to understand commute routes and the time it takes to get there. 5 miles might not sound a lot, but it could take up to 40 minutes depending on traffic so it's an important factor when choosing where to live in Los Angeles County. Marina del Rey is also close to major freeways which makes it easy to get to different business areas of the city. Bordered by Venice, Del Rey, Playa del Rey, and the Pacific Ocean, you are in a water lover's playground.
