ENCINO

Encino is one of the oldest parts of the San Fernando Valley, and the name means evergreen or oak in Spanish.  It is a quiet, peaceful place with the character of a small town, but it is only minutes away from Sherman Oaks and Studio City, which have more foot traffic and activity.  Encino is a laid-back, quiet residential community offering both the canyon lifestyle and more urban lifestyle. Encino real estate has areas in which there are hills above the Valley that are dotted with large luxury homes and estates. Enclaves within the community contain plenty of trees.  Encino realtors and agents have expressed that homeowners truly enjoy the trees in the summer time because with temperatures climbing above 100 degrees at times, the trees help keep their homes cool where they can save energy with less air conditioner use. The suburb of Encino possesses splendid architecture amidst the many green spaces, canyon roads, and gated communities. Traditional English, Cape Cod, Mid-Century Modern, Ranch, and Contemporary houses are some of the styles you will find here. In the pricier sections, you will find Mediterranean, Tuscan, and Traditional homes.  Homeowners who buy here tend to stay, and the many generations of families who have lived here over many years is evidence of that.

There is so much to do in and around Encino.  Ventura Boulevard has just about anything an Encino resident or homeowner or any other person could want.  It is a main thoroughfare that runs through all of San Fernando Valley.  There are lots of restaurants, shopping malls, plazas, coffee shops, and grocery stores.  There are also parks that are close by that are so beautiful and popular that many people come from different areas of southern California to visit them.  Lake Balboa Park is perhaps the most popular of the parks in the area. Part of the massive Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, this 80-acre water recreation area/park offers boating, fishing, and variety of other water activities on the 27-acre Lake Balboa. There are great paths for jogging and biking and ample locations for picnics and barbeques.  And then there’s Woodley Park.  Woodley Park is home to Leo Magnus Cricket Complex where some of the city’s best cricket players convene. It also houses the Woodley Park Archers which is open daily and free Saturday mornings. There are also open spaces to bring your dog.  The benefits to living in Encino seem to be almost infinite.  If you enjoy living in a relaxed environment, Encino real estate is perfect.  If you’re interested in viewing homes, schedule a private showing with an Encino agent or realtor at a time convenient for you.
