What do we like about Toy Warehouse Lofts?
The Toy Warehouse Lofts represent a pioneering milestone in the vibrant heart of Downtown Los Angeles. This iconic building, tucked away in the peaceful corner of the Art's District, is a true gem with undeniable urban charm. Originally constructed in 1923, the Toy Warehouse served as a hub for toy warehousing and distribution. However, in 1999, it embarked on a new journey as one of downtown's first significant adaptive reuse projects, marking a pivotal moment in the area's history.
In 2001, Decoma Properties, LLC, undertook the modernization of this historic site, and the transformation was nothing short of remarkable. The result? Authentic lofts that feature open floor plans, showcasing the inherent character of the building. With exposed wood columns, plumbing, and ductwork, these lofts capture the essence of urban living and quickly became sought-after properties in downtown Los Angeles.
Nestled on the northeast corner of Santa Fe and 3rd Street, the Toy Warehouse stands proudly across from Ray Kappe's renowned SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture). This location places residents within walking distance of an array of local restaurants, cafes, and boutique shops, making it a dynamic and culturally rich neighborhood.
