They specialized in Model-T accessories, boasting a sprawling 10,000-square-foot showroom. At the time, this was significant as the Ford Model T was initially sold without tires, fenders, a top, a windshield, or lights. The construction of this property was hailed as "another milestone in the growth of the automobile industry and the rapid development of Los Angeles." George Pepperdine's success with his automotive headquarters paved the way for various industries and ventures to settle in downtown Los Angeles, including the establishment of Pepperdine College in 1937. Many decades later, the former Western Auto Supply building became home to UCLA Extensions.

In 1958, George Pepperdine had envisioned adding three new floors to his four-story building. Today, Killeffer Flammang Architects has realized his vision while maintaining the original design emphasis on open spaces, high ceilings, and ample natural light, as envisioned by the original architect, John Montgomery Cooper.
